The inaugural function for observance of World Breastfeeding Week 2024 was held on 1st August 2024 at the Paediatric Ward, Civil Hospital Aizawl.

Dr. Eric Zomawia, Mission Director, National Health Mission who presided over the function expressed gratitude to all the staff of the Paediatric Department of Civil Hospital for their tremendous efforts on being among the Muskan Certified Paediatric Departments.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Lily Chhakchhhuak explained the benefits of breastfeeding for all round development. She stated that the Breastfeeding week will be observed in all districts from 1st August to 7th August, 2024 and that proper training had been given to all districts.

The Head of Department, Paediatric Department, Dr. Lalrochhuanga, spoke on the subject of proper breastfeeding and also stressed on the importance of role of mothers in breastfeeding.

The event was witnessed by staff of Aizawl Civil Hospital and National Health Mission.
